Empowering Women in Tech: She Loves Tech Philippines Pitch Qompetition

The tech industry, traditionally dominated by men, is increasingly being reshaped by the contributions of talented and visionary women. This shift was clearly on display at the recent She Loves Tech Pitch Qompetition in the Philippines, where 10 Filipina-led tech startups showcased their innovative business models and impactful solutions. This event, part of a global initiative aimed at empowering women in technology, highlighted the ever-growing presence and influence of female entrepreneurs in the Philippine startup ecosystem.

She Loves Tech, a Singapore-based startup accelerator, is one of the beacons for women-led startups worldwide, providing them with a platform to pitch their ideas, gain exposure, and connect with investors. The Philippine edition of the competition was a celebration of the creativity, resilience, and leadership of Filipina entrepreneurs, who are not only breaking barriers but also driving meaningful change in the tech industry.

AHG Lab, one of the Philippines' largest independent venture builders, was proud to support this event, particularly as three of the finalists came from its own ecosystem: Collo, MedsGo, and Rezbin. These startups, led by dynamic women founders, are prime examples of how diversity and innovation can come together to create powerful solutions that address real-world problems.

Spotlight on Female-Led AHG Lab PortCos

Nicole Concepcion, COO of Collo, helps drive her startup's mission to make property management as seamless and hassle-free as possible. Collo offers a platform that helps property managers automate operations, gain real-time insights, and enhance communication with tenants.

MedsGo, co-founded by Yulia Kachalina, is another standout from the AHG Lab ecosystem. This innovative health tech platform aims to revolutionize the way medical supplies are distributed in the Philippines. By streamlining the supply chain and ensuring that essential medical products are delivered efficiently and cost-effectively, MedsGo is addressing a critical need in the healthcare sector.

Rezbin, co-founded by Mica Martirez, is a startup with a mission to tackle one of the most pressing environmental issues of our time: plastic waste. The company incentivizes proper waste disposal by offering rewards for recycling efforts, effectively turning waste into value.

Celebrating All Finalists and Winners

Aside from Collo, MedsGo, and Rezbin, the She Loves Tech Philippines competition was filled with other startups led by equally remarkable women. Bianca Ramos of bonanza! benefits, Maria Sucgang of Remotify, Cris Azaña of kazam, Jael Cortez of TERPCAP, and Cristina Macaraig of Alerto PH all brought forward innovative solutions that demonstrate the breadth and depth of talent among Filipina entrepreneurs.

In the end, it was Unprude and Farmtri who emerged as the winners, earning the right to represent the Philippines in the regional finals. Unprude, founded by Dr. Rica Cruz, is tackling the often-taboo topic of sexual health and wellness with a platform that provides education and support. Farmtri, co-founded by Marini Fernandez, focuses on agricultural innovation, aiming to empower farmers and improve food security through technology.

Our support for the She Loves Tech Qompetition is rooted in our commitment to fostering an inclusive and vibrant startup ecosystem where everyone, regardless of gender, has the opportunity to succeed. We recognize that the future of technology and entrepreneurship is inextricably linked to the inclusion of diverse voices and perspectives, and we are dedicated to supporting initiatives that empower underrepresented groups.

The success of women-led startups like Collo, MedsGo, and Rezbin is a testament to the impact that diversity can have on the tech industry. Their founders are not only building successful companies but also paving the way for future generations of female entrepreneurs. By providing them with the resources, mentorship, and opportunities they need to thrive, we are helping to create a more equitable and innovative industry.

Looking Ahead: The Future of Women in Tech

As we celebrate the achievements of these remarkable women, we must also look to the future and consider how we can continue to support and empower female entrepreneurs. The She Loves Tech platform is an important step in this direction, but there is still much work to be done. By encouraging more women to enter the tech industry, providing them with the necessary resources, and creating an environment where they can succeed, we can help to ensure that the future of technology is one where everyone has a seat at the table.

AHG Lab is excited to continue supporting women-led startups and contributing to a more diverse and inclusive tech ecosystem. We invite you to join us in this journey, whether by supporting women entrepreneurs, advocating for diversity in the workplace, or simply spreading the word about the incredible work being done by women in tech.
